Websites built to work, not just look good.

ThoseGeeks has designed and built fast, custom websites for small businesses, nonprofits, and organizations across Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee since 2003. Every site is hand-crafted, performance-optimized, and built to turn visitors into cu

Everything a real website needs. Nothing you don't.

Every project includes these deliverables as the baseline — not as add-ons. We don't believe in nickel-and-diming for things that should just be part of the job.

Mobile-First Development

Looks and works perfectly on every screen, from a phone thumb to a 27" monitor.

Performance Optimization

Fast load times that keep visitors engaged and signal quality to search engines.

Clean code, semantic markup, and metadata strategy built in from day one — not bolted on after.

How We Work

A clear process. No surprises.

Clients who've worked with other agencies always say the same thing: "I never knew what was happening." That's not us. Here's exactly how a project flows.

  1. 01

    Discovery

We learn your goals, audience, and competitive landscape before touching a design tool.

  2. 02

    Strategy

Sitemap, wireframes, and content architecture — the blueprint before the build.

  3. 03

    Design

Visual design in your brand voice. You review and approve before a line of code is written.

  4. 04

    Build

Hand-coded, fast, and clean. Tested across browsers and devices throughout.

  5. 05

    Launch

Thorough QA, DNS migration, and a coordinated go-live with zero downtime.

I trust their methods and they're great to work with. I would recommend ThoseGeeks to anyone and will continue to do so.

Integrity Roofing and Contracting

Alan at Integrity Roofing and Construction in Christiansburg, Virginia got in touch with us to help finish their company website project started by another developer. The foundations were there, but he needed help smoothing things out and wrapping it up to get it production-ready.

Common Questions

Things people usually ask before reaching out.

We're straightforward people. If you don't see your question here, just ask — no sales pitch, no pressure.

How much does a custom website cost?
Most small business websites fall in the $3,000–$8,000 range, depending on scope, number of pages, and custom functionality. We provide detailed, itemized proposals so there are never any surprises. And we're happy to talk through your budget early — there's no shame in knowing what you can spend.
How long does it take to build a website?
Typical projects run 6–10 weeks from kickoff to launch. The timeline depends heavily on how quickly content comes in from your side — copy, photos, approvals. That's usually the biggest variable. Rush timelines are sometimes possible; let us know your constraints upfront.
Do I need to provide all the content myself?
We'll give you a detailed content guide and templates to make it manageable. We also offer copywriting assistance for an additional fee. For photos, we can work with what you have, recommend local photographers, or source quality licensed stock images that fit your brand.
What makes you different from Squarespace, Wix, or a page builder?
Template-based builders work for very simple needs, but come with real tradeoffs: bloated code that slows load times, design limits you'll eventually outgrow, and you're at the mercy of their platform decisions and ongoing fees. A custom-built site is faster, fully yours, and optimized for how your actual customers behave.
Will I be able to update the site myself after launch?
Absolutely — that's non-negotiable for us. Every site we build runs on a CMS that gives you full control over content. You'll get a training session at launch and written documentation. You should never need to call us just to change your hours or add a new team member.
Do you work with businesses outside Southwest Virginia?
Yes. While we're rooted in the Bristol/Abingdon area and love working with local organizations, we have clients across Virginia, Tennessee, and beyond. Everything works remotely — video calls, screen shares, and shared project tools keep things running smoothly regardless of location.
